Why it was needed
Times-table practice is repetitive. The app had to be quick to start, rewarding enough to keep a child going, and safe to leave halfway without losing progress.
What we built
A single-page React app with a clear setup, quiz and results flow. Scoring rewards both accuracy and speed, and progress autosaves after every answer so a quiz can be resumed later.
Key features
Three difficulty levels
Easy uses multiple choice, while the hardest level adds division and requires typed answers with one retry.
Speed-aware scoring
Base points plus a time bonus per question, tuned for each difficulty.
Smart wrong answers
Distractors are plausible nearby numbers, so guessing is not enough.
Resume anywhere
Progress autosaves in the browser and is offered back when the page reopens.
Printable certificates
A single-page A4 certificate laid out specifically for print.
